Quiet Denim Insulation is Class A (Class I) fire-rated according to ASTM E84, meaning it meets the highest level of fire resistance for building materials. It has a low flame spread index (≤25) and minimal smoke development (≤450), ensuring enhanced fire safety in residential and commercial applications.

Yes! Quiet Denim is crafted from the classic materials you know and love, containing no fiberglass or irritants, so it won’t cause itching.  

Quiet Denim is made right here in the USA, in the great state of North Carolina.  

Quiet Denim has an R Value of 13, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. 

We recommend using a serrated insulation knife. Avoid using a flat blade, as serrated knives are most effective for cutting Quiet Denim (a bread knife can also work in a pinch).  

We recommend that you wear a mask while cutting the material, as some fibers may become loose. For added safety, consider wearing gloves while cutting.

Yes, provided the lighting is IC-rated and you maintain an air gap of six inches for non-insulated lighting cans.  

Quiet Denim is designed to breathe and can promptly accept and release moisture. Additionally, Quiet Denim contains mold inhibitors.  

The fire retardant used in Quiet Denim also possesses excellent mold and mildew-inhibiting properties.  

No, there is no formaldehyde present in Quiet Denim.  

No, Quiet Denim does not include a vapor barrier. For areas where local building codes mandate vapor barriers, we recommend opting for a semi-permeable option.
